Progress Log: Thor

November 25, 2013: Ordered a Mjolnir today - we'll see how it looks when it arrives.

November 18, 2013: Back to Goodwill today, and to Hancock Fabrics just to see what I could find.
Goodwill:
twill oversized lady's vest for the underlayer/muslin mockup of the chest armor.
Excellent fit: $2.12

Hancock Fabrics:
"automotive headliner" fabric, two different kinds:
$5.83 for the larger piece, $3.75 for the smaller one
two pieces of embossed vinyl remnant (about 3/4 yard of each, 60" long):
smoke grey pebbled: $2.22, copper metallic: $2.92

November 14, 2013:  Went to my favorite fabric shop (Goodwill) for their regular Thursday $1.00 sale.
Red velvet slacks: $1.00
Red faux-suede blouse with pintucks down the front: $1.00
Black embossed faux-suede jumper-dress: $1.00

Looked for a vest/jacket to become the interior structure of the sleeveless armor, but no luck.
Looked for base pants, no luck.
Looked for sheeting to use as mock-up fabric (muslins), no luck.
There's always next week!

The black jumper is likely going to be pants/armor bits (for either Thor or Loki)

Planning for the pintucked blouse to become the inside of the vambraces:

Planning for the slacks to become what I am HOPING to do instead of a full cape: what appears to be shoulder-hanging capelet tags in Avengers.  (No pics yet - it's damn hard to find still frames of epic hero backs.)
